Dailymail has learned that Dick's Sporting Goods are now DESTROYING all unsold firearms that were pulled from their stores following the Parkland shooting massacre!!

The sports retailer announced in February that they would no longer sell AR-15's at its stores since the Marjory Stoneman Douglas Shooting that left 17 dead.

Instead of selling the guns back to the manufacturer, they are going to destroy them in a pit of fire instead (no pun intended)

A spokesman told Dailymail "We are in the process of destroying all firearms and accessories that are no longer for sale as a result of our February 28th policy change. We are destroying the firearms in accordance with federal guidelines and regulations".

The rifles will be destroyed at the distribution centres before the parts are recycled.

Dick also said they faced 2 lawsuits over age restrictions as CEO Edward Stack said they are trying to help the problem by starting with this first step because of gun violence.

2 conservative employees quit over these actions as they believe the 2nd amendment should be upheld and will not work for a "liberal" store that doesn't follow the "law"

if they didn't destroy all of the guns they sell, then it's just hypocritical and stupid.

this is just to appease sjw's, and i imagine they aren't actually going to get destroyed.

While I disagree with their decision and their silly virtue-signaling PR stunt, retailers are free to carry whatever they want and to dispose of unsold merchandise however they see fit.

While I don't agree with that choice either and think it reflects a generally stupid trend, I see it the same as refusing to sell wedding cakes -- a business should be free to choose who it sells to.

Im happy, these kinds of weapons don't belong in the hands of civilians. They are a military weapon.

Nobody was buying ARs from them anyways, unless they like getting ripped off. This is a publicity stunt that will backfire on them.
