No, it isn't. Run the safety razor with the grain of your hair and it shouldn't even be able to cut you.

Shave your neck so you still have a beard, but it's not a neckbeard. Unless you're one of those people whose neck area is actually multiple chins, in which case you're probably better off keeping the neckbeard.

Maybe for you white folk

Shaving it self isn't super hard, but it's hard for me to prevent razor bumps on my neck.

I don't even cut myself when using a straight razor...Maybe buy better razors/shaving cream and see if you don't get as irritated while shaving?

Maybe drink more water. Not sure if there's anything legitimate behind it, but I've noticed that I only get cut on days that I'm feeling dehydrated because my skin feels weird.

Yeah, this. What.

Are you living in 1955? Any razor made today is safe enough that you barely even need shaving cream. Just take a nice warm shower before hand. Shaving cream is clearly recommended, but I've used hand soap before, when I had no cream, and it was still smooth

Maybe you should try shaving with something besides a lawnmower.

I use an electric razor. Never tried it the other way. I have a constant 5 o'clock shadow, but at least I don't cut myself.

Some days I'm in a hurry and just shave dry and I still don't get any irritation or cuts.

Even with a nice electric shaver?

I don't grow hair on my neck, so neither. My wife doesn't let me shave though because then I look 20, so I just trim.

I have this problem and have managed it pretty well. I use a Mach 3 power razor and any shave gel with glycerin. I shave once every four days or so, always after a hot shower. Any earlier or later than that and it hurts and can lead to shave bumps. Sometimes Ill get ingrown hairs around the neck line and have to use a tweezers to dig them out. But I feel ya, my facial hair grows in like copper wire.

Electric Razor

Easy.

If I had to be clean shaven every day it wouldn't work, but it's fine for most people. I shave at night and/or on a weekend. By the time anyone at work sees me, the "shadow" has crept in to conceal any little hairs I missed.

For me, yeah.

Unless the electric shavers I use aren't good.
