I am speaking about from the public not from the bad guys. I was watching some old DBZ. And Gohan in high school just irked the hell out of me. Why in the world is he going out of his way to act weak. I mean it is just dumb, he doesn't have to go moving mountains or anything but he doesn't have to act like a punk. Moreover why did they let Satan take the credit for Cell.

so nobody will look at them like freaks of nature. Kinda like Vegeta during buu saga when he broke the punching machine. For Hercule, he typically just pays people hush money to say he did things he never did. In super he did the same thing when he payed Goku 100 million zeni as hush money.

Goku & CO wouldnt want to live in the ramplight, so people would start question if they really were that strong, which would end with punks that believes they are stronger trying to pick a fight with them constantly.
Gohan... he is a mommas boy, and she believes that he will not do his studies if he shows that he is strong.

It's not hush money. They basically tell him to take the credit. He gave that to Goku to thank him and bitch ass Goku was still all like "no thanks fam".
