I started playing Guild Wars, and I've already found a guild that I chat with and I feel I've found a community that actually accepts me for once.

I lived that past few years of my life isolated and trying to glue myself to the single player games, with my favorites being JRPGs, adventure games, and action games. No matter how great those games are though there's always something missing. As I'm playing GW I'm finding that there is this basic social need being fulfilled that I can't actually get anywhere else.
I get the impression that people who dedicate their gaming time to single player games must get their social interaction needs from somewhere else. Human beings need that basic interaction with others or else life falls apart.
I think I'll lay off the games I usually play. I still want to finish games in the Yakuza and Persona series, and maybe replay the Shenmue games as remasters for Shenmue 3, other than that though, I almost feel like retiring from single player games altogether, eventually anyway.

Yep that's why xbox live is so great, it's real easy to chat with people about random things, it's a great community. I still enjoy single player games, but spend most of my playing time on live. Today i spent 4 hours on it, and i've made some great friends.

Well, yeah. I think most people get their social interaction in the real world. I like games where I have a community. But I hate the commitment... especially when it comes to teams games. I love my team, but the competitiveness gets to me... That's why I like single player games. And talk to family and friend to get social stuff done...
