It came out of the drain.

You're fine.

Nope, you're definitely not fine. There's probably a colony of them living underneath the tub and one of them happened upon a hole in your plumbing.

Despair. Everything is over. You're going to have to move.

Big ass roaches or little roaches. Big ass roaches usually wonder in from the outside and aren't a big deal if you see one every so often. If it's a little roach, if you see one then there are hundred you don't see and you have a problem.

or it fell off the ceiling or was on the shower curtain. roaches will eat their own if there is no food, hell they will eat dry wall and molding to survive, but they NEED water to live. if your tub is their water source, they will keep showing up there.

roaches won't live or crawl out of your drains. if you shower regulary, then your drains won't be a suitable nest. look up in the top corners of walls in your bathroom. under ledges, even behind your mirror. roaches can flatten themselves out and squeeze almost anywhere

Licensed pest control technician here.

If you've only seen two it's probably not a big deal, but roaches are absolutely something you want to take care of before they get bad. One female can have like 20+ babies every few weeks, so yeah. Don't let it get out of control.

Call a pest control business, have them treat for roaches, and you'll be fine. I can't speak for other companies, but a roach job really shouldn't be more than $200 (probably closer to $100 depending on where you live), and generally it involves spraying pesticide in your kitchen/bathroom cabinets and then usually coming back a week or two later to set up glue boards and put bait out for them.

If you live in an apartment building, get up the landlord's ass immediately and dont stop until they send someone. (And not just a building maintenance guy with Raid, which is technically not legal).

Was it at night or during the day?

Seeing one at night is cause for some concern, but might not be terrible. The dude could've climbed in from outside looking for a water source, could've crawled from behind your wall looking for water. There is a lot more room for variable if you bump into one at night.

Seeing one during the day means you're probably fucked and have an infestation. That basically means that there is no more room in their nest and they are completely overcrowded. Just cus you only saw a few over the last few months doesn't mean shit...

There are probably hundreds more if you saw one in the day time.

Wow. Gamefaqs folk freak out over one cockroach and they have to freak out even more by posting it here at gamefaqs.

You know, instead of making a big deal about it, how about you go get a can of Raid and kill it or something.

Are you sure that they're roaches? One time I caught a roach like bug in my bathroom and took it to am exterminator. It turned out to be some kind of water beetle instead that was nothing to be concerned about.

It was a large roach.

Saw it in the morning, around 7 am

Going to a trip this weekend, may call pest control when I return

Ugh, definitely a way to start Friday morning

how large? garden cockroaches don't eat human food and might have wandered in during the night and got trapped. these are BIG roaches though, they cannot be mistaken for a german cockroach due to the extreme difference in size

It was definitely bigger than the ones I see at the condo laundromat. Those tend to be a lighter brown, maroon

This one was really dark brown, close to black.

If it was big and dark colored, might be an oriental roach. Tough to say without photo.

Harmless outdoor roaches like wood roaches are usually light tan, so probably not one of them unfortunately.

Yeah we're going to need an example pic of said roach. Take a pic or find one online that looks similar.
