It started off perfect. It got the message out there and for people to come and tell the stories.. and then it became every bad date was a #metoo story, the Enzo Amore rape allegation from an admitted liar to rape and drug user, the Aziz story with the girl who never said no, the fake trump accused Lady that came out with her story when everyone else did and got discredited, hell even a guy I knew at work got caught up in a fake story.

The concept was amazing but people turned it into a sexism issue based off of lies.

What other fake #metoo stories came out as false?

And honestly, all the innocent people who wound up getting their reputations damaged isn't worth the cost of outing the actual guilty ones. It'd be nice to live in a perfect society where only the guilty get fucked, but we don't so we should be more careful with the types of behaviors we are encouraging.

The expression I used was specific language because this is a ticky subject to discuss and I'm encouraging fender to expand on what he is suggesting.

I'm just gonna say it myself. #metoo is a mostly good and necessary thing, but it definitely has some serious flaws. Using the court of public opinion can get quick and nice results like getting rid of Weinstein, but by the time you're attacking Louis CK and then Aziz Ansari the movement has lost its focus.

I'm not sure why you think I'm backpedaling. I phrased that post in a way that I think would get fender to explain what he means. I was attempting to do it in a somewhat friendlier way than, "Expand your thoughts."

Also, I'm asking for fender's explanation of what he meant, not your interpretation.

It didn't come off as friendly. Your further explaining makes your original message appear less clear. Not sure you've succeeded with that. Perhaps you should have stuck with "expand your thoughts."

And I don't know what it is, but I just feel so strongly against innocent people getting fucked over. I would rather see 50 criminals get off with no punishment than see a single innocent man be punished for crimes he didn't committ. I don't want to live in a world where innocent people can get fucked over...because that could be me some day.

This. Very strongly against innocent(ish in some cases) people getting punished. Of course I'm also against innocent people getting sexually abused/assaulted. That is where this movement gets a bit tricky.

I still mostly support the movement, but I feel a lot more caution should be put toward where it's going.
