SALT LAKE CITY, UT - College classes are finishing up, which means it's that stressful time of year: finals week.

A University of Utah student has come up with a unique way to help his peers cope with testing anxiety.

It's called "The Crying Closet." It's a stand-alone closet, only big enough for one person at a time. The inside is covered with stuffed animals and a timer, to keep track of how long you're inside.

Art student Nemo Miller invites students to go inside for a 10-minute crying session.

Miller created the exhibit for a class project, but it appears to be getting a positive response across campus. Some students say other colleges need to implement something like this, while other students just come to check it out for laughs.

"The Crying Closet" is expected to stay up at the University of Utah until finals week is over.

Also for those unaware, mental health is a pretty big thing on college campuses to try to limit students from downing an entire bottle of pills with some natty lite. My school even set up rooms with sunlamps during winter months. So even if this closet was a thing, it's somewhat odd to use it as some snowflake generation target

I don't have a problem with the crying, everyone cries. I have a problem with the mentality that you need children's toys to cope. Life isn't padded with stuffed animals and soft mats to fall on and you do no favors to anyone by providing the illusion that it is like that. Cry when you lose someone, be upset when you fail a test, but don't hide in a confined space full of toys to do it. Most people find comfort in friends and loved ones when they need to cope.

I'm just here to tell you that none of these college students thinks an art exhibit with stuffed toys that isn't a thing anywhere else as far as we know and will also be gone in a week or two is how the real world works

Test anxiety?

Man when I was in uni I had a zen zone just before a test where I knew I was fucked but I was okay with that... at peace with that.

Still managed to do better than most others who had panic attacks before tests. Probably because I wasn't having a crisis when I wrote the test.
