usually you can get up 5-10 for free

they may or may not need to scan them first though

Haven't been able to keep up with comics (due to $$$ which is always one of the biggest problems with comics), and I just moved, but you better believe I'm going to Free Comic Book Day.

Seems like the local comic book store has all of the comic book day options. Unfortunately they only allow you to get 1 for free. And 3 more if you purchase enough.

I'm not going to be able to make it today but the guy at my local store is going to put some aside for me to pick up when I get the new releases next week.

I went to two comic shops.

The first one was one that was at a convention a while ago and I thought it would be decent. They had no books left except the ones they don't care about and because they had no more DC comics ones, they put a bunch of overstock issues of Justice League of America #1 from a few years ago. And then I go in and it's just two sweaty guys in the tiniest shop that was somehow organized in a way I could not comprehend and I could count the number of trade paperbacks they had on my hands. It was very sad.

And then I went to the one on one side of the city and I looked around the same block multiple times and it appears it was replaced by a hobby shop that had the entire window filled up with Space Jam merchandise. Like, there were a dozen Space Jam VHS tapes in the window. But the website is updated as of last week and it lists the same address. I did not bother going inside.

I didn't try a more reliable shop that would be on the way home because I was too demoralized.

i worked the first half of free comic book day, almost all the books were gone by 11. usually we open at 11, but we opened at 8 today for FCBD, and even though we advertised all over the store and on our website, people just assumed we were opening at 11 and were super salty they missed the good books

it's also our 50% off trades, back issues and manga sale, we made a killing

had a comic book industry vet of 27 years come in and do a signing, he's great with kids, he did really well selling prints

FCBD is a good day

i got no free comics but the vet signed my Tom Hardy Venom mini-poster because he had colored Venom for 5 years and that was enough of a connection for me
