When I lived in other places, a tick was annoying but it wasn't really a big deal. Here, almost everybody knows at least one person who had pretty severe problems with Lyme Disease. For the past year, the Cary Institute has been using mine and my neighbor's property to do tests and monitoring of ticks. I told him that shit was serious and he should go to the doctor because he might have Lyme disease. He went to the doctor and he had Lyme disease.
