Not particularly. Knowing what you want out of life is an admirable thing to work for.

A little balance is good, too.

When you're young, it makes more sense to spend time working on your career than socializing because early income gains can have a compounding effect over a lifetime. Granted, a certain amount of your career REQUIRES socializing because networking is a necessity for most industries.

Be sure to make at least some time for socializing. If you never interact with others, it will be difficult to suddenly become social later on.

socializing is not important
in fact at a certain point you will be less likely to socialize because you're too poor to do anything
and no woman will want to be with a man at his parents house
also if you don't do anything new there is nothing to socialize about

Socializing with your coworkers is very important as it establishes a good network. I am still in contact with people from my first professional job and they have in the past batted for me with massive success.

Socializing with other people? I know nothing about that. Wouldn't even know how unless you dragged me to a bar or something.

That's the most important thing, really. Don't prioritize socialization to such an extent that you miss golden career opportunities, but also don't prioritize your career so much that you spend all your time miserably alone.
