Avengers 2 nearly killed him, he wouldn't be able to do this one on his own.

Though I feel he would have done character interactions better and had a better structure.

I presume the reason Black Widow was basically cut from infinity war was because of the reaction to her being too weak and human in the last Avengers film.

Nah, the Russos said they made sure to give more screentime to everyone who "dies" in Part 1 so the rest can get their screentime in Part 2. So people like Black Widow, Cap, and Hulk will get their chance to shine in the sequel.
