I tried my uncle's copy of Dragon Warrior 3 on the NES a few times, but had no idea what I was doing. Same thing when I rented Final Fantasy III for SNES.

Super Mario RPG was the first real RPG I think I played. Before that I played those adventure games that some times get called RPG like Zelda and the Illusion of Gaia (My favorite game in the whole wide world)
