Switching my party to Van and Sneff, just to try them out. Van... has the second-highest strength of any character I have available? The fuck? Nothing too special about Sneff, but I'm sure he'll be fun to keep around regardless. Going to Another World, no cutscene for poor ol' Lynx? RIP. If they get way ahead of their average progression, that stat becomes less likely to get a boost. Similarly, if they get way behind that stat becomes more likely to get a boost. On your first playthrough you only get partway through the total progression so there's plenty of room for randomness in which characters end up with top stats. All I've really gotten is HP tbh I'm pretty sure that units out of battle get stat boosts from random fights as well. no, all character get boost from your star level. for extra stats you must take them into fights. that's why your Riddel's magic is lower than Korcha's. Huh. You might wipe once or twice, but even on those fights it'll be easy to figure out what you'll need to do to win.
