I bought The Fast & the Furious: Tokyo Drift because of one actress I liked from another show. I had never seen a Fast movie prior, and to this day still haven't seen the others in the series.

and I collect Transformers so there's plenty of figures I've purchased based on character.

I've bought games just for the cute mascot characters a few times, but I always do my research in the interim between discovery and purchase

if you mean over guest characters, nope

I want to but for instance, my favorite senran kagura girl? Besides a single waifu pillow, there's not much merchandise of her out there. No figures besides those chibi blah ones, and maybe a keychain thing or squad line up on a bag.
