For those who are on death row and are 100% guilty, just harvest their fucking organs. These criminals don't need them any more, might as well save decades of imprisoning them and just harvest their organs to help actual people who need organs to live. It's more humane than lethal injection, electric chair, fire squad, hanging, etc. They don't even have to be on death row, those who are doing life sentences should get the same humane punishment too.

Yeah but to make it more humane put them to sleep like any regular surgery. It's the least we can do for those scumbags

it's a bad idea because then it incentivizes putting people on death row

Many people have been put to death under a 100% guilty assumption, only to be found innocent later.

So to take this idea a step further TC, would this be allowed everywhere or only states where the prisons are run by the state itself? Should privately run prisons, like many states have, be allowed to harvest the organs of people too?

These private corporations already profit off of holding people who have been sentenced by state or local governments incarcerated, should they be allowed to also murder them and sell their organs too?

It would come down to a cost/benefit ratio to decide if it is more profitable to keep them locked up and collect money from the taxpayers (about $40,000 per year per person on average) or kill them and sell their organs. Plus a few laws would have to be changed to allow privately companies to murder people and harvest their organs legally.

How would a private prison even work? I'd assume they get grants from the state to help run it? In which case wouldn't it basically just be a contractor job and it's still technically state ran because they have to do everything the state tells them?

Curiosity is the first step towards learning something new. Since you're using the internet why not look up if your state's prisons are run by your state itself or private companies?

The option to harvest convicted criminal's organs should be decided by judge or jury, whoever is the least corrupt then the insurance of the person who needs the organ would give money to the hospital who performed the surgery
