..."College isn't the only path to success."
While I agree with this, I feel like the people backing this argument are just saying it then letting the discussion fall flat. The major reason college is appealing is the education you get, despite the heavy financial burden, equates to a challenging and upwardly-mobile career. Meanwhile jobs like auto mechanics or fabricators don't get any of the same sort of talking up, even though there are challenges, mental skills required, and rewarding outcomes in those lines of work too. Working with one's hands isn't immediately signing off on being intellectually stimulating but the mentality at large is that only white-collar work leads to that kind of engagement. If they want this sentiment to stick, they need to say more than "College isn't the only path to success." The meat behind the words needs to be demonstrated and celebrated. --- The only game reviewers who can be trusted are those who publish in Latin or Swahili. ... Copied to Clipboard!

I agree with what you're saying and for the same reasons. In addition to that, you don't need 8 million librarians or 100 million math teachers or whatever other grossly large arbitrary number you want to throw out there. The job market for college educated jobs is so rough because everyone decided "hey, I should get a college educated job!" But the same goes for trades/crafts as well.

Learning a trade is more beneficial and profitable than a degree in many cases. Still, you're gonna be hiring people who have to have those business-related skills anyway since most people in the trade industry farm out accounting and management needs. --- The only game reviewers who can be trusted are those who publish in Latin or Swahili. ... Follow it with "on the path to happiness".
If you go, you'll still be stuck at a job, only with a large debt beforehand. I think about school, but nothing seriously cause idk what I would want to do. So, I work and enjoy doing what I do while earning surplus rather than paying debt. My concern is my retirement atm, otherwise, happiness is what I aim for everyday. People just need to think for themselves and accept whatever path it takes to get there. --- Warning: Sometimes biased https://imgur.com/V0x5fw8 https://imgur.com/IOovUge https://imgur.com/zw7bqPH ... Doesn't seem like there's much of an upswell, considering people are pounding the drums for college harder than ever and proposing free tuition which won't do much more than balloon state & national debt.
