I always keep to my right without going off the sidewalks.

But other people keep going straight down and make no effort to move. One of these days, I'm gonna ram right into someone.

what bothers me is when people walking on a sidewalk or an aisle at the store feel the need to walk in a zig zag...I'll be coming up behind and see a perfect spot on the left to pass then BOOM, for some reason their body just gradually shifts left forcing me to go right instead.

I find this only happens if I have a totally neutral expression and don't look at people.

If I'm smiling peiple generally move and say hi. If I'm angry looking and not making eye contact they just move.

I'm sure they think I'm passive aggressively making a statement but the truth is I just have this weird compulsion to only pass approaching people to the right. If we're walking the same direction it doesn't matter.

It just feels like... they're on the wrong side of the sidewalk, and I refuse to go on the wrong side of the sidewalk as a result.

God the worst is peiple who walk 3 or 4 abreast and don't move when I'm riding along the hike and bike trail here. It's bad enough when they don't do it upon hearing a bike riding along the gravel behind them but when they don't move when I ask them to and give a heads up / don't move when they're oncoming and see me? I seriously wanna just clothesline all of them as I ride past...

I hate the people who don't keep to the right in the US. Or the people who walk in huge groups and expect you to move out of their way. Or the people who greet each other, stop and have a talk in the middle of the fucking sidewalk instead of walking off to the side.

Sounds normal tbh. Like how those horizontal moving walkways at airports have the right side for standing and left side for walking. Or how the right lane on a two-lane highway is for slower traffic, and the left lane is for faster traffic. It's probably just conditioning.

I hate that about Vegas. You get a bunch of people who have never been to a city before and don't know how to walk that will walk down either side, the middle, stop whenever they want, stop in front of stairs or escalators, decide to randomly stop in the middle for a picture opportunity. It's awful.

Also hate the slow walkers that have their cellphones out. The fact that they clog up the busy sidewalks and almost kill themselves daily cause they cross the street when other people cross the street... Most people in Chicago will cross when they don't see a car that will hit them, doesn't mean anyone following will be safe. Specially if they are slowly plodding along.

Couples arent bad. Its when its entire families of like 4 or 5 that insist on walking side by side. And 9/10 when its a group that large theyre just out chillin so they walk incredibly slow.

Like walking into the path of a moving Forklift or under a load.

Or like when carrying something long and heavy.

They just walk right up on you or in your path where you can't see them.

Just knowing that they're gonna get hit and it happens regularly.

I think walking is a pretty mellow activity most of the time, I don't mind slow walkers or anything really. The one bad thing is if you're blocked an entrance or egress but I never see any one do that really.

tbh the only time I've gotten mad about walking etiquette was for the train stations in D.C. if you don't walk down the escalators or at least move to the side so we can, you are scum
