Happy moments only, please.

Nothing at the expense of someone else.

Nothing sarcastic, sadistic, etc.

Pure positivity.

When I was offered my job.

I actually cried - which may seem excessive, but I came from nothing.

My parents were poor, I grew up poor - I'm the first college grad in my immediate family. I've worked hard for what I have today and it was truly a blessing to be rewarded for it, as well as having a job where I can give back to others each and every day.

My wedding day. Everybody was incredibly nice and supportive. I had family come from around the world to see us. My wife looked absolutely beautiful and stunning. Weather was perfect. It was a total celebration of our love and relationship with the people who have supported us along the way. It was kind of like feeling like a celebrity.

Iunno if drugs being involved is quite in the spirit of things but-

A few years back I was dealing with some pretty serious emotional issues. (Well - I've always had them and still do, but they were really aggressive then.) I was high one night and searching through some music sites for new stuff to listen to, and I came across a song that caused an explosion of euphoria in me. This wasn't just being really really happy, nor was it just some stoney "this is so awesome, man" thing - the pot had to be a factor, but this this almost seemed like a manic episode. It was more frantic and aggressive than it was blissful and joyous. Maybe it was just the result of my brain being so ruined by stress at the time.

I don't know if this is the happiest butttt...

End of semester before last of uni.

The previous summer I was in a pretty dark depression, very suicidal and hopeless. Fewer friends than ever, my parents had just divorced but dumped me at my grandparents. This had been a prolonged issue, and it reflected in my grades as I slipped low enough to lose my scholarship (sub-3.0). Pretty much the only way I could attend college without large loans and my family would kill me if they knew.

And of course there's the whole bi/trans thing coupled with a deeply conservative family, with me finally deciding to be open that summer about it online.

I managed to appeal the scholarship loss on basis of extraordinary circumstances, and won: I'd be given the scholarship for one more semester, with full reinstatement if I did well enough.

Well enough implied turning my cumulative GPA to 3.0+. Which I didn't realize at the time: I thought it was semester.

I buckled down that semester. I had a rough start but ended with a 3.6 that semester - 3 As, 2 Bs. One of those As was from me acing a final: if I didn't ace the final I would've had a B.

Turns out that was just enough to get me above a 3.0. Made me ecstatic on realizing that. ^_^

mine is really specific but means so much to me, so i'm going to go into detail. you've been warned.

I'm an actor, and one of the things that made me fall in love with theatre and helped me decide to study acting is a musical called Sunday in the Park with George. It's a beautiful musical that asks difficult questions about the nature and worth of art, and also addresses the way we sacrifice our lives to our arts. The music is gorgeous, the script is honest, and the story is very heartfelt. I not only fell in love with the musical, but also with it's two main characters, and wanted to one day perform as the titular George.

I first watched the musical (original Broadway cast recording starring Mandy Patinkin and Bernadette Peters) around highschool graduation, at the age of 18. As I fell in love with it, I also learned that I couldn't quite sing the part; my then untrained voice did not have the durability or the range to give the part justice, which broke my heart.

Fast forward three and a half years, my university (at which I am a senior) has chosen this musical for the winter, I have now been taking voice and acting classes for two and a half years and have come a long way in both. I have a great relationship with the director, and he knows I love this part and this musical.

Typically, when casting a play, a director or casting director will hold auditions at which they ask for a monologue of some sort and, if applicable, a song as well. Then, if they feel your work in the audition was of good enough quality, they'll invite you to 1-2 callback sessions where they might ask you to, among other things, perform readings or songs from the play. After auditions, I went to the first callback session a tad nervous but very excited to take a shot at the role in auditions.

What I did not expect is what came next. The director invites us all into the performance space to tell us what the process will be: first we'll hear this song, then we'll see these cuts of the script, etc. Then, he pauses and says something along these lines: "Also, we don't normally do this at callbacks, but I will go ahead and let you know, that the role of George will be played by Nate."

My next memory is a rush of joy, my hands coming to my mouth, as I gasped out "Oh, oh my god!"

That moment -- learning that a near and dear life goal was about to come true -- still gives me great joy to this day. The rehearsal process that followed it was stressful, exhausting, satisfying, energizing, creative, beautiful, heartbreaking, and everything in between. Performances were gorgeous and heartfelt, audience response and subsequent word of mouth was great (our house sizes ballooned during the 2nd weekend, where I think we sold out all of the performances?). I connected with friends in new ways, made new friends, watched them grow and evolve in their roles and lives as a result. I learned a lot, I grew a lot, I felt a lot, and it was all wonderful. I would do a thousand more performances if I could.
