Matpat did a theory on this and showed that we are approaching a limit on children being born and not because of resources, or space issues, but on the reasons to have a kid, so wiping out half the population, so long as we still have a good portion of trained individuals to keep everything running, which is rather iffy cause it is random, there probably wont be a huge spike in kids soon after.

Birth mortality rate went down, while having 5 kids are still common a century ago.

Nowdays, it is starting to balance up, we are still progressing upwards, but we wont see the booms like that again probably
