*Only major sport in North America, just to clarify.
Basketball is the only major sport that focuses on per game statistics for every category, versus how other sports (mostly) use accumulated stats to compare players. I know ERA, batting average, and passer ratings exist. No need for the lecture. It's just that in basketball, no one uses total points, rebounds, assists, steals, etc as an idicator of a player's ability. The averages in each game are the stats brought up. Atleast baseball, football, soccer and hockey have HR's, hits, steals, strikeouts, TD's, passing/ rushing yards, and goals. Basketball purely uses averages. Weird, mane. --- ... Copied to Clipboard!

I dunno, in football, per game passing/rushing/receiving averages seem to be just as commonly mentioned as season totals
