Life isn't perfect, but moral high grounds don't fix the issue or help it. Abortions alleviate the burden on adoption centers, people's pay checks and the potential life that would also suffer if they simply forced upon someone as opposed to wanting and desiring. The preventative measure helps alleviate potential suffering in the future. And sometimes, people just make mistakes. Personally, I wouldn't want to go that route with any of my potential progeny, but what other people do is up to them. Everyone ended up doing okay (even if the road to getting there was tough, thanks to the shitty foster care system). Just gonna offer my 2 cents. You're right that it's not an inevitability or impossibility for foster children to succeed and have a good stable life in their future. It is, however, true that you're more likely to succeed with a support network akin to a family. Saying that something is not as good as the other doesn't necessarily mean it's what should always be chosen. Things don't always come out to bear as we might expect them too. I grew up in the foster care system. Yes, me and others had a tough time when we became old enough and left, but you know what? While we struggled, we ended up doing okay in the end. One girl I know from the foster care system (who had no family and was left to fend for herself when she became old enough and even became homeless for a short while) ended up getting married and had two children of her own. Everyone ended up doing okay (even if the road to getting there was tough, thanks to the shitty foster care system).
