It can all be summed up with: grunge music isn't considered very cool today (barring Nirvana), but Pavement is. --- #linning ... Copied to Clipboard!

Not the greatest. There's too much music out there for one band to be the greatest of any period of time. But I can agree with one of the greatest.

I remember you from way (way way) back from my music:rock days. When did you get into Pavement? I'm a little surprised you like them enough to say that. IIRC you were mostly a hard rock / prog fan, right? --- #linning ... Copied to Clipboard!

Yeah, I started out as a classic rock fanboy, but as the years have gone by I'll listen to anything from any genre. ABBA to Burzum, doesn't matter, as long as it sounds good. Pavement was one of the first bands I listened to 12 years ago when I really started getting into music, so I can partially credit them for broadening my horizons to what it is now. All 5 of their albums are fantastic, and they certainly left their mark on the decade. It helps that they broke up as soon as the '90s ended. But I'll never feel comfortable giving just one band the crown of "the greatest of XX". It's not fair to every other band out there. --- ... Copied to Clipboard!
