This is one of those cases where it is pretty tricky. On one hand it's not going to make people want to shoot up anyone. It's a fucking game. But on the other hand, a game about specifically shooting up a school would be fuel for anti game soccer moms to use as propaganda.

They would show law makers and say that shooters are getting step by step, military grade training on how to massacre a school and they will eat it up like candy. Then all it takes is one dumb bastard to shoot up a school, who so much as clicked on the steam page for this game, and it's like the early 90s all over again.

Apparently the developer has a history of stealing assets, and the game looks like crap, so no loss if it gets pulled. Steam needs better quality control anyway.

What you're saying isn't censorship is. Black listing someone because you don't agree with them is censorship in it's purest form. It's a dumb idea and I doubt it will sell well, especially if it looks and plays like crap. You start blacklisting developers then you wind up with companies not being able to release games with controversial material, like Detroit having a chapter about child abuse. Games like that shouldn't be banned because people are worried about angry mobs going after the industry.

Hillary and Lieberman already tried to ban video games in the US because of Mortal Kombat and they failed. It isn't going to happen on that scale. It's no excuse to infringe on Freedom of Expression.

I have no qualms about shit like this being banned but on principle I don't think fiction should be illegal unless it breaks privacy and uses real people's names. I'd prefer if platforms just refused to release it. Valve already have restrictions in place anyway.

A similar thing happened with that Hatred game a few years back. Steam initially pulled it due to its content (it was an edgelord Postal, basically), then quickly reinstated it.

I think the main problem is really the timing.
