My dad drove a huge wedge between his side of the family and my mom's side. I'm relatively close with a number of people on my mom's side of the family, but most people who know me or know of me on my dad's side... I have no clue who they are.

my dad's family are snakes.

one cousin asks my dad for all the money my grandma left behind. he says he spent it on me and my schooling and she gets mad and doesnt talk to us for 10 years.

then she comes back all nice and loving, invites us over to hang out and says she wants to be a family again
then 1 month later asks for money to go to school. we tell her no we can't pay for her school and she cuts us out of her life again.

then i run into her before i left for korea. i told her i was moving and she calls my dad to ask to live in my room while im gone. he says no and she cries and cusses him out and never talks to us agian

also my family in the philippines dont speak much english. i dont speak tagalog.

plus i feel like ill be expected to help them with money, since they're very poor, but honestly i can barely keep myself afloat.
