Kinda sorta maybe not really. It's only been four days, I think we've all gone that long without posting before. I am trying to not log in every day because if I don't have anything to say then I'll just end up posting for the sake of posting and/or find myself reading all the other horrible topics on the board.

Also there's not much really going on sports-wise, just baseball and the Rockies are awful. Today is Nintendo E3 day though so I planned on showing up for REAX in this topic

I only watched a minute or so of it but it seems like it's literally just a list of fun facts about Smash 5

Nothing on Metroid? I don't really care personally but I feel disappointed for all the people expecting that

They had a trailer for a new Fire Emblem that looks excellent. A few other things as well but nothing too interesting. A new Mario Party that they're marketing to adults

In a 42 minute video, 24 minutes was just a list of facts about Smash. It seems like a heavily enhanced port but it's hard to say. The stages are all the same but they changed the character designs and animations and stuff...where do you draw the line at what's a port and what's not

I was planning on getting Smash regardless so it wasn't really that exciting but that's okay because I already have more than enough games to play

Yep I was gonna get Smash either way too. It looks really good for a "port" as it is. The character roster is just at a stupidly high number now. I hope there's still a few surprises left tho

Now that Fortnite is on Switch I may finally play it for like two hours

The only thing I was hoping for that had any slight chance of happening was more classic games being announced for the online service. Oh well

I'm among the contingent of Nintendo fans who really wants them to announce a friggin Animal Crossing already. In the hours leading up to it today I had resigned myself to the likelihood that they wouldn't announce anything that good but I still had a little hope. Alas.

I've never played AC but doesn't it actually revolve around real-time, and bad stuff happens if you don't keep up with your village or whatever? If ever there were a game that belonged on Switch...

Yeah, it was perfect for DS and 3DS. It's the game on 3DS that I would find myself going back to more than anything else.

Well the Switch just came out! I think the other two are prepping for next gen though. Sony is taking a multi year victory lap and now they can't shut up about that Spider-Man game while Microsoft is clearly revving up to win the next one and honestly they probably will because that's the way these things go. Nintendo just doesn't have anything for 2018 and they don't usually talk about things far in advance which is why I kind of thought this time last year that Metroid Prime 4 was going to be a 2018 game.

Overall it was pretty bland. Sony and Nintendo are the ones I care about and neither one sold me on anything I wasn't already going to buy. Even that Ghost of Tsushima game I'm not all in on yet though I'm sure I'll play it. I also thought the Last of Us 2 footage was pretty whatever. Showing story stuff from that game without context is pointless and I don't want spoilers anyway. But it looked good.

The cool stuff from this E3 for me was pretty much Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, Devil May Cry 5, maybe that RE2 remake, Smash/FE of course, and then obviously CyberPunk 2077. I know my expectations are too high for that game because I think it's going to be better than Witcher 3 which is probably my favorite RPG ever.

Oh and I guess Bethesda announcing Startield and TES VI is nice but they feel far away.

The RE2 remake looks sick.

I still haven't played Skyrim yet but kind of want to so I don't care if TES6 is gonna be a while

Well the Switch just came out!

I did expect Nintendo to blow it out of the water because of this. I figured a lot of Nintendo IPs would be quite far along and ready to show off right about now. Maybe they're just holding stuff back to show off in a later Direct.

It probably means that Smash is their lone big game for this holiday season unfortunately. As I said I would have bought it either way so further hyping only gets me so far, but it does look really good. They said Fire Emblem is gonna be out in like February of next year at least.

They have Pokemon Let's Go! as well

Oh yeah that's true. That will be a system seller.

North America will be hosting the 2026 world cup. Most of it in the US. That sounds like it's going to be a goddamn nightmare.
