Iron Fist stands out as disappointing because of the quality of the other Marvel Netflix stuff.

You know, I think this was true upon its release, but after Defenders, Jessica Jones S2 and Luke Cage S2, I think it's actually just the new standard.

JJ S2 was good. I'm at about episode 5 of Luke Cage S2 and I'm also enjoying it.

I also don't hate Defenders, although I do find it disappointing. I think everyone came into it expecting some kind of Avengers moment, and the show never really pulls that off.

Maybe I'm just in the minority but I walked away from JJ S1 thinking that it was "The Greatest Marvel Show Ever" (patent pending), and I walked away from JJ S2 thinking that it was like someone else wrote Jessica Jones and didn't get the show at all. But as long as it was enjoyed by someone, that's important.

I hope that isn't the case. I haven't seen S2 of JJ or Luke Cage, yet, but JJ S1 was, at the time, my favourite Marvel show.

I think the Punisher managed to beat it out though.

Scarlet, since you're here, I've been meaning to ask about the new Punisher #1 that's shipping in August. Some of the stuff I'm reading is either about to end or I'm going to drop (Hellblazer, Mister Miracle, Suicide Squad), so I'm looking to potentially pick up a new book or two.

I didn't read any of the Marvel Legacy Punisher (or any Punisher at all actually), and the solicitation for the new one seems like a continuation of that one. I know it's a #1 so it's likely a decent jumping on point, but is it something you'd recommend, or should I look to fill the void elsewhere?

That's funny, because I walked away from JJ S1 thinking that as well. I definitely wouldn't put S2 on that pedestal, but I never finished an episode unhappy. My only problem with the season is Trish's storyline, only because it made me dislike Trish, while she was the one companion from the Netflix shows (save Claire) that I really liked

But again, I don't want to get too deep into stuff Han hasn't seen yet.

I haven't read it yet, of course, but the Previews suggest you can jump in. I'm not really interested in it, but I'm not a Punisher guy. That said, I loved the Ennis series and the Punisher MAX series years later.
