Nobody even uses them right so what's the point? They totally rolled these out without a plan and basically been mum on how they expect these to be used. So are they just there for shits and giggles?

I actually remember after CJayC retired and SBAllen started implementing a lot of the stuff we had been asking about for years I liked him.

Then like a year down the road it seemed like he just started doing shit to do shit. That is when it got annoying.

I guess I'm one of the few people who actually think flairs would be useful. Not necessary, but still useful. However, this site isn't really structured in a way that's conducive to using them correctly, so they're just pointless. It's kind of funny when somebody flairs a mundane topic as a Live Event but that'll get old in a few weeks

This site isn't structured to handle most of the things other sites have.

And that's fine. Let it be what it is. Now that we know what it used to be, we see that it could be ruined by things that other sites have.

They basically wanted the users to do the work for them. People can says what flairs they want and for which board. Basically, you can have different flairs for each. Like if a flair would only apply to one system, or even one games. Or whatever board you're using. Basically, they thought it would be a good idea, but didn't want to actually do the work. Haha.

My opinion is that I agree that they are worthless. I personally don't like them. And I don't like that they mods thought it was a good idea. Because they probably have other shitty ideas that they will try since this one failed...

It doesn't matter if the flairs are good if almost nobody uses them correctly. But you can't really enforce correct usage because the boards have never been structured to have mods review every single topic that gets created. Having flairs with no rules is like if they took out the ability to mark topics and you just had to wait until a mod happens upon it.

I thought they were a great idea, not for PotD but for game boards. Shame that everyone hated it so much gamefaqs actually backed down this time.

Agreed. They were never made for PotD or CE. They were made for game boards. Pokmon for example has Battling, Trading, and Online tags. So if you're looking for those, you can find them pretty easily. Or, with the way they changed it, you can filter them out, and just them.

The only flairs I'm really used to prsctically are NSFW flairs but since gamefaqs is for babies we don't have that, so it's useless.

You know, when the flairs came along I recall Helly saying that he was leaving as a result, and even a screenshot of some form or message saying as much plus comparing this plac to Reddit. I say this because Sailor Bacon will probably come out and call the flairs a failure around the same time that Helly actually, truly leaves.

Since when has any admin ever admitted on this site that something they did was a failure?

Any time they do something stupid that the userbase tends to dislike or reject, they immediately double down and support the idea twice as hard, and passive aggressively shit on people who disagree with them over it.

Even CJayC did that, even if everyone today sort of conveniently forgets that and thinks of the past as a much better golden age.
