Anyone know when Code Geass R3 will finally air?

I'm still so excited to finally watch the continuation, that I've been rewatching Code Geass for the fourth time (up to Episode 14 right now).

We don't have any info yet on R3, but the recap movies have already provided a few major retcons that will need to be watched in preparation for R3

Welcome back, Key! You've been gone from this topic for a while.

Not on purpose; I just haven't been reading or watching anything lately.

I powered through the prologue of KH2 FM yesterday; my heart still breaks for Roxas. All he ever wanted was to exist. That moment when a single tear rolls down Sora's face still gets me.

I also watched Riding Bean after putting it off forever. Totally badass, and I love the music too. It cemented my desire to back the Kickstarter for the new Bean Bandit project.

Bah
Looks like Square did it again and have delayed KH3 until Jan 29th 2019, I mean I'm not surprised but I am a little disappointed after them saying it was gonna release this year. At the very least though I'm glad the game finally has a set release date... unless they delay it again that is

Oh damn.

This video got randomly recommended to me and I found out that the BnHA anime is nearing one of the greatest scenes in the entire series.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sb5UM-HOgU8" data-time="

Haven't been keeping up with the BnHA anime since I'm waiting for the dub, but I might make an exception for next week's episode.

It's a major turning point in the series since, it's the moment All Might's powers finally give out, his true form is revealed to the world, All For One gets captured, and the torch is officially passed down to Deku. Needless to say, it's a big deal.

Uh, the first arc is great.

It has a lot of silly conventions which I can't recall being referenced at all later on -- such as the Hokage's crystal ball -- there's absurd amounts of recapping, everything is over-explained, and elements of the Zabuza story are pretty generic. Not to mention that a lot of the character development between Naruto and Sasuke immediately breaks apart right after the arc. Plus the confrontations could have been greatly condensed, especially since there's a lot of recap and replaying stuff.

And the whole expectation that a ninja's corpse would be dissected on the spot -- in full view of their enemies who could examine or steal stuff -- was just stupid. Oh, not to mention that the early episodes make a big deal about not showing off ninja moves then literally everybody throughout the rest of the show does just that.

Yes, yes, Zabuza sword cannot be beat. However, his actual storyline kinda drags and he's somewhat used as a throwaway villain. A lot of the other early villains either become allies shortly after or become even more prominent villains.

I can't speak for the recapping since I read the manga, but the arc did well as a first arc, giving some character development and showing that the world of shinobi isn't as pretty or black and white as they may have imagined. It also reinforced the importance of holding onto their convictions (though from what I've heard that message was lost on Sasuke).

The missus and I have jumped into the '90s Lupin III movies due to a need for laughs. (These are the ten movies that Funimation made available in the First Haul and Final Haul boxed sets back in the early '00s, before the Great DVD Crash of '08.) Started at Crisis In Tokyo, but there is no specific order to these, so we can always jump around.

Rewatching Naruto's Chunin Exam arc has mostly been a blast so far. I forgot some of the stuff, including how much screen-time Kabuto got early on (I mostly just remembered him befriending the group). And, of course, I forgot the slew of generic-looking tough guys who were taking the exam (most of whom were never pictured again after they walk in that classroom -- either because they get cut during the written test or just aren't shown during the Forest of Death).

Annoyingly, though, the episodes are getting bigger on recaps so I have to skip through a bunch of stuff. Plus there was a terrible series-recap episode right before the forest of death (mostly a clipshow with voice-over explanations) that I tried to skip through but finally just skipped the episode.

And, in hindsight, Orochimaru's scheme is even weirder, considering he kills a group to sneak in there and test Sasuke himself. He has Kabuto as a mole -- but doesn't seem to tell the Sound Ninja anything about it -- and then he has the Sound ninja, who are basically intended to be sacrifices to test Sasuke's skills. However, given that he really just wanted to take over Sasuke's body for his next incarnation, I'm not sure what difference Sasuke's skills made at all.

And, of course, he has the Sand ninja on his side but, because they think they're working for the Kazekage, they don't know anything about the testing. The presence of the Sand ninja makes more sense, considering that they were part of the attack force during the Chunin Exam finals.

Plus I kinda don't get Orochimaru's character design, given that he kills a Grass ninja and assumes her identity, after which the costumes he wears basically look the same as that outfit. So is that supposed to the kind of thing he's always worn (at which point isn't that a dead giveaway?) and the other ninja either coincidentally or was told to wear it? Or did he just decide that he liked that other ninja's look and basically kept it?

Otherwise there are a few things I'm wondering about now from the perspective of knowing the twists where I wonder if they'll be filled in as I get further through the arc (such as whether Kabuto's teammates were also Orochimaru's spies. Currently still on the Forest of Death stuff because I'm kinda sporadically watching.

If you were going to take over a person's body, would you want them to have strong skills or no skills? He wants his vessel to be strong. This is also why he doesn't just take over the body right away and brings him home to train him so he gets stronger.

For this, you can look at the Sound 4. What they wear looks similar to what the Grass ninja wears. I think you can just assume the Grass person was just another Orochimaru spy.

Yup, the dude that fights Sasuke specifically says that Kabuto is Orochimaru's favorite.

A lot of that stuff should be innate to Orochimaru. The fact that Sasuke knows or doesn't know how to fight seems irrelevant because Orochimaru knows how to fight and, when he takes over, he'd be using his own skills. And, tbh, the biggest part of wanting his body was for the kekkei genkei. Or was he really just testing to see how well the eyes themselves worked?

Otherwise, I can kinda see wanting to train him for physical strength -- because it saves work down the road -- but it seems like most of Sasuke's value is just in that kekkei genkei, which was also true of Kimimaru.

Also, wasn't part of the reason why Orochimaru hadn't taken Sasuke's body at the beginning because he had recently transferred into a new body (because he ran out of time while waiting for Sasuke to be brought to him) and there was a cooldown on that ability? Stuff like the training seemed intended more to groom Sasuke into choosing to be the next host, since it was first used to lure Sasuke to Orochimaru's side and then make him loyal enough to agree to be consumed.

tbh, the main plot is often the least interesting part. And had they resolved it, he'd go back to being an adult which would kill the main gimmick.

Orochimaru can't use his skills if his host doesn't have the strength to use them. That's the point of the curse seal. It's not to give people power, it's to give people power with the intent of having them as back up hosts if needed.

The Kekkei Genkei is a main reason for him wanting specific people as hosts. Because that's a power that only the person would have and very limited amount of people would have that same power or even have something that could counter it.

Zeus posted...

I think he has limit as to how long each host will last, and then after getting into a hosts body he has to wait so long before he can transfer again. And I remember that his host bodies' times were up quicker than before.

If Sasuke had showed up on time, Orochimaru would have made him the host then and there. Because he was already strong enough for what Orochimaru needed. He doesn't really care if the person chooses to be the host or not.

One of my buddies at Crunchyroll is in the process of watching the entire franchise, from the '60s all the way up to the present. (He had to set aside this entire year to do it.) The impression I get from reading his experiences is that Lupin III has almost no continuity, and the number of different writers and directors involved over the decades means that the type of show it is can be very different from one series to the next. It tends to be a comedy, but it can range from being dark (like the original manga) to being Japanese Looney Tunes (like the "pink jacket" era of the anime). You can pick and choose the bits you like. The "blue jacket" series is the one currently running on Crunchyroll, and that one has been well-received, but you can start almost anywhere in the franchise and have fun with it.

Castle of Cagliostro is a good place to start, but it is important to remember that it is not characteristic of Lupin III as a whole. (The best description I have seen is that it is a good movie, but not a good Lupin III movie.) Lupin is almost a hero character in that movie, and he and his friends are not terrible to each other, which is kind of the point of Lupin III.

Newest episode of GGO throwin some surprise yuri fanservice at me (it was inconsequential but I enjoyed it). Also watching comic girls because it TOO is light yuri despite not being listed as it. Yuri hidden everywhere, what a wonderful time.

Overall though I've been bored out of my skull the last few days. Finished a rewatch of the first 25 episodes of death note. It holds up ok. It wasn't as smart as I remember it but it's probably been a decade since I'd last seen it.

I wanna play all the cool samurai games announced at E3. Sekiro, nioh 2, and ghosts of tsushima specifically. I have high hopes for Nioh 2 especially, I feel like the devs massively improved throughout their DLC releases and if they can tackle a whole new game with that design skill it should be amazing. Will probably still be balanced like shit though.

Just watched love to lie angle or whatever the fuck its called. It's such a shame. It's what I've always wanted. A true yuri ecchi harem, but..... it looks the entire budget was half a bag of potato chips and each episode is like 3 minutes long.

Frankly what we do get is fine content wise, there just isn't even close to enough of it. Hopefully one day yuri will get the budget and attention it deserves.

This one was nice in particular because its like the only ecchi i've seen to focus on the lower body. Lots of "oh I forgot to wear my panties" and convenient tripping to land face first into some other girls crotch. While it's all obviously censored I feel like a lot of times ecchi almost forgets that body part exists. Course there is plenty of boob grabbing and stuff here too, its quite lewd.

Ah Youkai, I was wondering who was the yuri fan here cause I had a question. A simple question really, what are some of the best yuri only hentai? I think there's only one I've ever seen. I'd also like to know some that have yuri moments but aren't yuri only the whole episode(s).

I can't even remember what the one I watched was called.....

The only good purely yuri hentai I'm aware of is shoujo sect. It actually has engaging plot and characters as well as of course lots of lesbian action. It also has a fantastic soundtrack. All around a much higher level production than most hentai. I think it was the only hentai I had listed on my anime list and one of the few I actually watched straight through instead of skipping around.

Aside from that I'm generally only watching clips when I want yuri. The clips I do see I often don't know what they are actually from (although even then, there aren't many pure yuri scenes of quality). I really can't be of much help.

The hottest yuri scenes IMO aren't from hentai. The scenes with ecchan in kuzu no honkai and all the scenes with kuro in prisma illya are pretty top tier. Oh right, valkyrie drive mermaid was basically hentai but somehow counted as just ecchi and its full yuri. Nothing truly amazing but it had some hot scenes in it. Basic plot is girls kiss other girls to turn them into weapons (temporarily) and fight each other for stupid plot reasons. The netsuzou trap anime was total garbage but it's yuri scenes were borderline hentai and pretty good.

Really starved for yuri in the anime and hentai realms and so much of what we get is either a side part of something else or trash production. Then again there aren't many good yuri manga worth adapting either so it's not surprising. At least it's much less painful than it was pre yuru yuri when all yuri seemed fucking law bound to have a tragic ending.

That might be one reason why I was never able to get into it. And yeah, the manga seems jarringly darker than the anime (or, at least, the volumes I read did)
