It's time to stop thinking of dating as life and thinking of it like a game of Dark Souls.
At the beginning, you have no experience so every mob enemy (these are your obstacles like no job, looks, personality, etc.) can get the best of you. Soon you learn tactics to get past the mob types and you approach the boss! Finally, time for a date you think. Not so fast. Just because you think you're ready, doesn't mean you are. The boss (the woman you're interested in) kills you, over and over again. Well, time to switch tactics. You summon a phantom (your wingman) to help you with the boss. Not so fast. Now you have to deal with an invader (a Chad like person trying to swoop in). Assuming you can outthink the invader and slay the boss, you're finally ready to light the bonfire (get laid). ... If you want to make stupid allusions like this and just put pressure on something that doesn't relatively have to put pressure on you to begin with, that's fine, despite how counterproductive it is.
