i watched the video last night. although the guy definitely gets way too dramatic with his framing of the WR scene, overall it's a pretty compelling video that kept me watching to the end.

and i dunno anything about speedrunning.

i rolled my eyes at every "changed history" and "rocked the world," but there is a certain earnestness going on that kept me hooked for 30 minutes, which is an accomplishment!

You could do it on a lot of tracks really. Granted I'm biased, as I'm a moderator at the Mariokart64.com and heavily involved with mario kart time trials, albeit not as much this year.

Although not many quite have the drastic differences of time for new or evolving shortcuts as choco mountain, but there are plenty of tracks that have insane changes on how far they can take the shortcut to get lowered times.

You should see his April Fools one about some Spongebob game that he claims was literally sent through time for speed runners to change history and rock the world
