Got down to that swamp in Blighttown. After struggling to kill that spider lady, I decided to take a break from Darks Souls and get into another game. I was really liking everything up to that point, but it's been a year, and I still gotten haven't gotten past her.

So not going into how god awful the game is to begin with

I found my way into some dungeon, I think it was a cave or a mining place or something

I completed all of the jobs in the nearest town related to this place

I grinded like crazy, I did at least 5 runs on the exp setting AND the item setting. I wouldn't go too far because I didn't want to accidentally trigger any plot related events quite yet but I still wandered pretty far each run

There was a really poor plot excuse where the main character couldn't....handstand anymore, and this was crucial because his normal attacks hit like 3 times since he pulls out Eddy Gordo moves but this curse reduced him to one, so it was already frustrating doing all of this

I decided to finally finish the dungeon

IIRC, a party member leaves, and you get some weak asshole to replace them, and DESPITE all of my excessive grinding, I STILL lost to the boss. I thought being down that one party member would be okay, BUT NO

HOW MUCH MORE DID THIS GAME EXPECT ME TO GRIND?!

and yes, I forgot to save during ALL of this

I did all of this on a long trip in the backseat of a car

I almost threw the game out the window

Not gonna do all of that and Never touching that game again

I've quit plenty of games due to boredom/difficulty, but nothing I can think of where something happened that simply displeased me in an otherwise enjoyable experience, which is what I understood this topic to mean...

Actually wait, I quit Scholar of the First Sin because it made a few changes to enemy placement that rubbed me the wrong way, and I didn't feel like being annoyed for the entire game. Might be worth trying again, since I don't think I'm as stubborn anymore.
