What I hate more than those kiosks, though, are the self check-outs at walmart. I refuse to scan and bag my own shit, and obviously everyone else feels the same way around here because all the check-outs that have human cashiers are always full while the self check-outs are empty.

Well, it could also have something to do with the average IQ of a Walmart shopper, which is a legit challenge for full on automation. People are dumb and\or afraid of computers.

The issue is not so much about how to use them, it's the work involved. Have you ever gone to a self check out with $300 of groceries? That takes a lot of effort. Let the human employee do that for me, I work hard enough at my own job lol.

I do it on the regular, about once a month at Sam's Club. Beats the shit out of traditional checkouts, and it's not really a lot of work or thinking.
