I dont get the appeal to Battle Royale at all, but Fortnite is all Ive tried for it. Maybe if they ever made that PvE mode free Id come back to try it, but I played the other modes for like 5 hours and virtually all my time was spent trying to even find somebody to shoot and and dying the second I did find somebody. I got top 20-30 every time simply because I couldnt even find anybody.

The building is just super gimmicky. Whoever can build the fastest and get the high ground wins.

How long does that take? Id say 5 hours should be plenty of time to get a feel for a game and all I got was running around bored looking for any players

Yeah, the building stuff was weird and it seemed too annoying to even bother bringing up building stuff if somebody was shooting at you. I guess I just dont have the reflexes for this game or the patience to learn it when dying once means you gotta enter a brand new match again to even keep playing. Just not fond of the style

I never knew Fortnite had that building aspect to it until a few weeks ago

I thought it was more about holding up somewhere in pre established buildings or something, hence the name

but someone showed me some videos of duels consisting of player characters trying to not only shoot each other, but simultaneously trying to out build each other in real time and trying to get the high ground, completely weaving over each other's work and even scaling back down their creations

I thought it was really creative and it must be super exhilarating participating in fights like that

though I imagine that probably doesn't happen often and those videos were just cherry picked scenes from long sessions

While thats understandable it would e nice to see other games considering Smash already hogged the direct and a lot of these first two days. Almost makes ya wonder if they have nothing else ready to really show....

They showed several games today

They just show Smash in between those other games

1. Because it's the most popular
2. Because the other games typically are done in segments and need to be set up, whereas Smash is just pick up and play. You can't show too much of story based games, and like during Mario Party they said they specifically had a copy set up to start them out with certain items and such so they could show them off, because the randomness wouldn't have allowed it normally.

I didnt get to watch much today, but the couple times I checked was Smash. I get that its coming up, is popular and easy to show people play, but I got more than what I needed from the direct. I would love to see ANY details on Fire Emblem, but I guess theyre not gonna talk about it at all from how its seeming so far....

Well I mean the alternative would be having nothing in between the other games, so. >_>

The other games required setup, or had specific people in to talk about them, etc., things that keep them from being ran back to back to back. Smash was basically the "Fill time" game, which is likely why you saw it so much, since it was pretty much just there to fill time between features

Unrelated note, but I saw they mentioned they didnt show Prime 4 because it wasnt in a state they were ready to show people. Yoshi (working title) was delayed to 2019 if anybody was curious and didnt already know.

Been doing just that. I am basically abandoning any hope they will show anything I care about at Treehouse.
Theyve been making it pretty clear theyre all about Smash right now and I simply just dont care about Smash much

You're definitely in the extreme minority that likes some of Nintendo's game series, but Smash is not one of them.

I dont really dislike Smash. I just think theres no middle ground with the game so it hogging the spotlight while Im not getting info on stuff I wanted to is annoying. You were either gonna buy Smash Ultimate regardless of how much/little was shown or said about it or you werent gonna buy Smash. 90% of the direct and an invitational shouldve been more than enough coverage. I dont really care about the mech game they showed and Nintendo doesnt seem to realize Mario Party has been dead to a lot of us for at least a decade or more

This may come to shock you, but you're in the extreme minority of people that don't want to see Smash in action.

Though it doesn't sound like your issue is Smash, anyway. It sounds like they haven't had anything to show on certain games that you want to see yet. They've showed a bunch of other games besides Smash, just not the ones you want, apparently.

Thats why I said it had plenty with what they lined up. Saying there isnt enough Smash would be like me saying Microsoft didnt show enough game trailers. How much do you guys really need to see? I mean a lot of you literally bought WiiUs just for Smash so you were on board regardless of anything they couldve possibly shown

Thats fair, but I stand by it. Different strokes I guess.

Last year was themed on Mario, but they still didn't showcase Odyssey on Treehouse as often as they're showing Smash this year. Or Splatoon the year before. Unfortunately this year they just have fewer games they're bothering to show off than in past years. I'm still hopeful for a Fire Emblem segment tomorrow. I think it might be the only game left that had focus in the presentation that hasn't been on Treehouse yet.

I think this is mainly the thing I'm getting at. Pretty much every game that had focus on the presentation outside of Fire Emblem has been shown on Treehouse, so it's not like Smash is specifically taking time away from anything.

I want to know why its called Three Houses at least. Is it gonna be 3 games like Fates? Is it gonna be 3 entirely unique stories depending on which house you pick? Is it gonna basically be one story and you just side with one house so only minor stuff is different? The title alone leaves a lot of questions.

The Japanese title translates to "Fire Emblem Four Seasons" so I don't think there will be three games.
