There's this overwhelming need for "acceptance" - where, there aren't enough people to play the role of giving a fuck. Or there aren't enough people to play the role of being against you. And this is proven to be true by those nuts that traveled several states over just to order a gay wedding cake from a Christian bakery. Nobody cares. Nobody cares so hard that you have to go looking for the people who dislike you and your lifestyle. I watched the first season of 13 reasons why with my gal, and there was this scene where (can't remember exactly) where someone calls out that chick for making a big deal of being gay. And they're like "it's 2018. You're gay. Nobody cares."
