Met a girl back in mid May and we started dating since June 1st. The day i started dating her she mentioned something like "I can be a bit bipolar sometimes so i hope you can have some patience with me" but i didnt really pay attention to it or thought she was just kidding.

Now that i started dating her i noticed she does indeed has some noticeable mood changes. We went to eat and we were chilling perfectly during the night, making out and stuff, when she suddenly changed her mood from one second to other and she was pretty stern and cold from that moment, which lasted for the rest of the night, for no absolute reason and even told me "Leave me alone, i dont want anything" from one second to another. This has happened twice already in the last 2 dates we had. She was pretty fine after we saw each other.

She mentioned she went to the Psychologist a few weeks ago, so that might mean she is in some sort or treatment or such.

Should i even bother dating a girl like her? Even if it is too soon to ask myself that question i feel like i totally understimated what she told me when we started dating and i honestly noticed dont have as much patience to deal with stuff like this.

Im 29, shes 21. We get along nicely most of the time despite the age difference and i think she is a rather interesting, but her mood changes are absolutely annoying. I guess its not for everyone.

We have been together for less than a month so i feel it might be too soon to give up but at the same time i wouldnt want to waste my time assuming this will just end bad, no matter what...

As someone who dated someone like that, get out. Get out now. It's all fun and games until you wake up at three in the morning and you find the girl watching George Foreman Grill infomercials, holding a carving knife and crying hysterically.

Is she receiving treatment for it?

And having a friend who has it, it can be very difficult to deal with.

"mild"

Anyway the age gap should be more of a red flag for you than mental illness imo.

21 year old women are not what I'd describe as stable, or together, bipolar or no.

That's not how someone with a mental illness generally describes themselves.

Anyway, if she genuinely does, and it bothers you already, then you should break it off right now. It's not going to get easier and if you aren't prepared to deal with it, you being unfair to her and yourself.

Thanks a lot for the input, people.

I tried reading about the Bipolar Disorder for the last 2 hours and i was shocked to see it is a serious issue indeed! I absolutely understimated how severe this was!

I guess i will try to hang out with her once or twice more, but if i see a similar reaction both from her and my lack of patience, i guess i will just break up with her.
