I just finished My Lunch, which is also a pretty sad episode. Not as bad, but still fairly upsetting.

I could never really get into that show. The comedy bits were gold, for sure, but the drama was always eyeroll-into-the-sun sappy.

It can be a bit sappy at times, but for the most part it's still handled well despite its sappiness, and I love that it's a show that every now and then will pick on itself. There's a couple of times it acknowledges its more sappy moments, and it's great.

Yeah, she was great, but I guess they needed someone to be the candidate for the plot and only so much you can do with a character before it gets overused

She really wasn't in that many episodes though. She was only ine what, maybe 4 or 5ish at the most? And they don't kill her off till season 5.

True. Guess they just wanted a recurring person, and she seemed the best fit over the hypochondriac, as that would've been too cliche. And on of JD's many girlfriends would've been cringe.

That's true. It's weird to think that the hypochondriac may be one of the most frequent recurring characters who wasn't a love interest of JD or Elliot.

Or JD's brother, I guess, but even then they're probably about even, at least at this point in the show.
