Definitely feel like I've gotten more confrontational in general in recent months.

It's weird. I don't feel any more angry or anything, I've actually honestly been happier the past few months than I have in a long time. But I just find myself being more confrontational and aggressive over sometimes really little shit.

It's weird bro.

There have been periods of my life where that was the case. Yes, it is somewhat liberating to be able to be comfortable with disagreeing with others and calling them out on it or to not be hesitant in defending yourself.

I feel like the reverse happened actually, I was extremely aggressive and angry as a teenager and early adult, but became a lot happier and accepting late 20s and now mid 30s.

I was a relatively passive teenager, so maybe that's part of it. I never really had the confidence to really do anything about wrongs done to me for the most part. Now, I'm way more confident in myself, so maybe I'm like, overcompensating for the times I was a spineless turd.

Depends on where it's coming from. If you're escalating inconsequential things that look petty after the fact, then your might want to do some soul searching. Otherwise, if it's just being done with people being shallow, dramatic morons who have no capacity for thinking past their own noses, then that's fine.

Little bit of both. I usually don't go too far about the little stuff, but I've noticed it enough that it could be a problem.

Cutting out the dramatic shit bags has been good though and has had a noticeably positive effect on me, which is good, I just gotta get a little better about finding the hill to die on.

I mean, I'm not going out and starting fist fights with people. I've just been way more outspoken about the things I like and dislike, which is fine to a point, I'm just worried I've been overly aggressive when doing so.

Like, the other day I went to see Hereditary in theaters, and there was this group of people there who were laughing, making loud obnoxious noises, and being dick bags the whole movie and it pissed me the fuck off. If I hadn't been there with my girlfriend, I probably would have yelled at them to fuck off, I almost did anyways even though I knew it would have just led to more of a conflict. >_>

Like, that's a normal thing to be ticked off about, just the fact that my go-to reaction was to try and start shit is a little worrying.

For sure, but there's also a line. Getting pissed at a sexist or racist shit bag? Sure. Getting extremely annoyed cause someone disagrees with you about what makes good story telling? Silly.

Even if storytelling is my career path, doesn't justify it.

When the mom's headless body floats up into the tree house, there was a lot of snickering and giggling. Luckily a loud "shhh" shut everyone up pretty quick.

It's a matter of perspective. Instead of keeping your mouth shut you're willing to vocalize what you really feel when they're negative feelings. That doesn't have to mean that you're jaded though.

Yep. Just means you're confident in your values and don't have time for people who willfuly disregard consideration for others. True mark of maturity, IMO. Far too many adults never figure that out. So long as you don't get blindingly confident and become incapable of registering when you're in the wrong. Too many adults lose that capacity as well.

I have an old soul.

At least I'm 21 now and can drink legally.

I went into the liquor store to buy liquor for the first time a couple days ago, previously had only bought beer or whatever at the supermarket, felt good.

Got myself a big ol' bottle of Vanilla Brandy, hoping to drink it with a buddy of mine this weekend.

I have a friend like that who does pulls that shit about animation, it's annoying as fuck, and most people just refuse to talk animation with him anymore.

I've gotten people thrown out of theaters for that, lol. There's unspoken common courtesy rules in all sorts of scenarios, and if you actively break them, you deserve to have whatever control system that scenario has to come down on you.

Plus, it's a pretty good feeling when the theater is cheering due to people being escorted out after you complained twice about them.

I was super shy and non-confrontational when I was a kid/teen. Somewhere around the time I became an adult, I became more passive-aggressive. Recently I've become more straight-up confrontational. I like the feeling of not being so "weak" anymore, but sometimes it goes too far and I have to tell myself to chill and ignore the people who are annoying me.

That's definitely the case. People will be talking about how they're looking forward to watching some animated film and he'll immediately pop in how "it's garbage". Not even a "Eh, I'm not a fan", just straight up calls it awful and terrible even if everyone else is saying they like it or are wanting to give it a chance.

That's kinda where I'm at now. I'm definitely way more confident in who I am as a person, and I'm not afraid to say what I think anymore, which is great. It's just about finding that line of where being confident turns into being an ass.
