Yep. It's literally just 3 hours of backtracking over and over again. I think you even climb the same mountain like 4 times in a row at one point.

SNES version of Chrono Trigger is the better version >_>

Nah man. As much as I love the SNES I can't give up my animu cutscenes. >_>

I don't remember the Lost Sanctum at all, except that I completed it (because I'm a slut for Chrono Trigger) and was underwhelmed with the rewards compared to what the normal game gives you.

The monster battle arena was cute though.

Lost Sanctum definitely isn't worth it. I forget what you get, but I also remember being underwhelmed by it too.

Vortex Dimension or whatever it's called is okayish. It's just a dungeon with random assets from other dungeons in it and a final boss that's pretty easy.

Monster Arena I had fun with >_> There isn't much to it though.

Ha, I was going to get the DS version after trying the Steam version, but I just went back to the SNES version after all of it and hearing the bonus stuff in CT wasn't worth it.

Has anyone played any of the Chrono Trigger hacks like Crimson Echoes? How are they?

It doesn't have the same fulfilling payout that you get from the original side quests and feels tacked on.

The backtracking gets annoying fast. I also miss the original SNES sound effects, especially for Crono's sword.
