So often older games dont run on windows 18 or whatever the heck edition we're at now, but I have an older system with windows XP on it. I havent used it in years, though. but basically if i want to use this as a 90s gaming rig(and possibly early 00s) whats the best OS for that purpose?

Most older pc games are on abandonia type sites and can be run on dosbox np on any new windows system. Also a lot of them on gog and steam that are already made to work with new systems

one thing ive always wanted to do though is install something i bought at a book fair in the mid 00s.

DATA CAD. it is on 7 floppy disks.

I dont know what it is but it appears to be an architectural design tool.

probably WinXP with 800x600 monitor. many games don't support or scale well to higher resolutions.
