Also, Trump is one of the most populist politicians in recent memory and fascism is in some ways populism taken to an extreme. But it's really style over substance in a way. If this was truly a fascist regime, then Trump would not be attacking CNN on twitter, he would be putting their leaders in prison. Mueller would not have been allowed to conduct his investigation and he probably would have been publicly executed by firing squad to send a clear message. Mueller is not afraid for his life at all. The worst thing Trump can do is fire him, which can potentially cause a lot of damage politically.
