... because it's a different product. They are actually smaller than the original recipe wings.

I'm not sure what you are asking. The hot wings are a different product. Smaller chicken, different breading. They are not just wings made on site to be spicy. The original recipe wings and the hot wings are two completely different pieces of chicken with completely different breading. They are probably sent X amount of original recipe wings, x amount of original recipe thighs, x amount of original recipe drumsticks, and Y amount of hot wings.

Even if you get the wings as part of the 6 piece deal (or whatever the deal du jour is), they are still using a different 'product', even if it's technically the same cut of meat.

Those are the same. However, there is not a boatload of spicy drumsticks and thighs lying around, so their point about balance still stands.

Because nothing is made on site. The people you are talking to are so far removed from the chain that they have no fucking clue how product is distributed.

People like flats more than drumsticks because they're stupid and don't realize that drumsticks have way more meat.
