Something that disturbed me about this morning's 20 minute train delay: they announced that late slips would be available at the station.

I let my team know via message that I'd be late to our meeting due to train delays and no one was upset. Letting them know was mostly a formality since we're pretty relaxed and laid back.

But some people on the train are probably panicking and sweating bullets because their employers hold that much influence over them that they're afraid to be a little late. Those late slips exist out of necessity.

It's a shame that as a culture we aren't more lax and laid back. It actually helps productivity when you aren't afraid for your job because of a train delay. :/

You communists have at least this much right. Some employers are on way too much of a power trip if they're gonna demand a late slip for the goddam train.
