Don't lump them together like that. XXXTentacion was an abuser and an incredibly violent person. Lil Peep was a sweet kid.

I'm not lumping personal lives together. This topic is about finding out a musician under 24 you never heard of dying.

It sounds grim, but I think Tekashi69 is another rapper who's mere inches away from the same fate.

Yeah but I think his security detail is supposed to be fairly ridiculous

Do you listen to modern hip hop? I wouldn't expect them to be household names like, Kanye West or Eminem, for example. They're mostly popular with the younger hip hop crowd, so I wouldn't necessarily feel bad

I do listen to modern hip hop. Last big story I heard was the Drake and Pusha T beef. That seemed to die down though. Drake didn't respond.

There's this new genre, I've dubbed it ratchet/rock/pop/goth/emo-hop.

Many are just trying to be like the Weeknd or future but don't have any of their talent

I think technology and the internet have made it a lot easier to get into the rap game, these days, which can be both good and bad.
The good is that you don't necessarily have to deal with agents, PR departments and all of the other red tape that goes with trying to sign with a major label. The bad is that you end up with a flood of sub-par or mostly untalented people who spend 30 minutes shooting and editing a rap video on their laptop and uploading it to Soundcloud.

Yeah but I think his security detail is supposed to be fairly ridiculous. He has had whole gang communities threaten him in confined spaces and gotten out, multiple times.

True. Not the greatest idea to instigate constantly, the way he does, though. What he considers "trolling" can be looked at completely different on the streets.
