Well that's because it isn't necessary and the Republicans don't want them entering legally. Or they say they do, except they're trying to cut off every way they can.

I still find it funny that the world thinks that the US is the worst place on earth but yet everyone wants to come here and live.

Hell I've been trying to figure a way out of here and can't really find it.

It's legal at the ports of entry. Those that are being separated are crossing illegally, then claiming asylum when caught.

That is a really, really stupid idea. Reward people who break the law with what they want, nope, no flaws in that logic.

And hey, why don't banks just give money away to robbers and not charge them? That way they have the money, nobody goes to jail, and everyone can sit around singing kumbayah and jerking each other off

not all crimes are equal, it's why we have civil infractions, misdemeanors, felonies, etc. seeking a better life is not the same as robbing a bank

Yeah, I don't have much sympathy for them getting into the situation they're in. I sympathize with them in that their living situation is super shitty so they feel the need to commit an illegal act in an attempt to give themselves a better life, but it's still an illegal act. Though I do wonder why they can't just do a quick check to make sure they aren't carrying anything illegal, finger print them, take a picture, make sure they aren't a repeat offender, and send them back on a bus in like a couple days. If they're coming back a second time after being warned, that's when they should be jailed.

Its basically like a massive group of people just rushed into the water park without paying and then scattered around. You just have to focus on getting everybody, because they shouldnt be there. Why allow them to stay if there are other people who paid for their tickets?

Do you think the US has infinite resources? I know it's horrible to say, but we need to treat these people like numbers. The US can only help so many people before it would become a burden. There are billions suffering in the world, and we can only help so many.

Imo a good solution would be to bring back indentured servitude. Work on a farm with no pay for 7 years, only a place to sleep and food to eat, and you get citizenship guaranteed and don't get deported.

It's definitely an odd argument because it's used as a gotcha when it's like, we do have problems with mass incarceration and a bunch of nonviolent offenders who get fucked over for an eighth of weed. It's not like we're saying illegal immigrants should get treated differently, we want the whole prison system changed.
