In Star Wars, they still inhabit the same physical dimension during ftl travel as regular space travel. If you want to go somewhere at ftl speeds, you have to use shipping routes so you can avoid planets, stars, or other major objects and gravity wells. In other sci-fi works, like Halo for example, you can use slipspace travel to move non-linearly. Why did the Empire only disable the hyperdrive on the Millenium Falcon but still leave the ship able to fly otherwise? Why didn't the storm troopers on Endor use radios to tell the base about Luke and Leia, instead of hopping on speeders so they could be taken down? Why did Luke's plan to rescue Han... hell, it's so unnecessarily convoluted and prone to fail, I don't even know where to start. Why does it even work at all? I'm not saying you can't think of answers to these questions. You can, just like you can think of plausible in-universe answers to the issues in TLJ. But at the end of the day, almost all movies have inconsistencies like this. So just ignore the details or else think of some explanation.
