Think it's a pretty common thing in Asian culture. I'm so envious of American parents. It's crazy how different the dynamic is.

Western culture: Parents job to raise child
Eastern culture: Kids' job to make parents look good (starts from childhood)

Lol you still live with your parents? That's on you broheim. As someone who also lives with his parents because bachelors are not allowed to own apartments, I can tell you that the entire culture of the middle east is based on getting married, bringing lots of kids, and having those kids take care of you. A lot of similarities in these old world Asian societies.

Naturally I'm looking to immigrate to another country because that's the only way I can escape this bs

That shit happened to me all the damn time except they don't beg for it. They think it's my job to do it. I feel like I'm raising them half the time. Like they're legit useless in society sometimes. I do all their health stuff, bills, and bullshit for them because they don't know how to, and don't care to learn. Been doing it since I was a child.

Well my mom just helped us buy a house with a lane way home on the back of the property. Basically she will be living 75 feet away in a separate building so she's close enough to watch my son but far enough that she won't hear every little conversation (unlike a basement suite). It also means for her that her cost of living will be a few small utilities and food and thats it. Her pension will more than cover it.
