C

While I like the Deadpool movies for the most part, most of the jokes are him calling people something that's a reference to something else.

Spider-Man: Homecoming, Thor: Ragnarok and Gaurdians are just funny through and through.

I honestly prefer the adult rumor of Deadpool. Right before 2 came out, I was itching for a superhero comedy fix right after watching Deadpool 1 again. So I threw on Guardians 2, then Guardians and then Ant-Man.

It just wasn't the same, despite me loving those movies and the comedy. It's just kid friendly comedy, which is fine.

Both did. Second was way deeper than I expected and his almost death scene was freaking beautiful.

I'm mixed on this, I'd say they're about even. While the stand alone quips are hit or miss "Are you there God, it's me Margaret" and stuff like "Dad?" Are great others are only alright, but then you have scenes like "you should have seen your face" "I didn't know what to do." Which beat out any of the others.

And I actually like GotG more than the first deadpool. Deadpool probably edges things out though for a D from me.

Adult humour in Deadpool is kind of generous.

On one hand Its refreshing for a superhero movie to have a hard R rating and use it.

On the other hand. I quickly got my fill of dick jokes. If I was 13, maybe I would find it a lot funnier.

Deadpool definitely has a lot of laugh out loud moments. But most of the time I feel its either riding a line between trying too hard not not trying hard enough.

Shit...did I leave the stove on

That joke is not funny no matter how hard you try. Adding a shit isnt magic comedy glue for this reeeeeally cheap joke.

And theres a lot of that in Deadpool. Lines that make you go thats the best they came up with, huh?

I just think humour in a lot of MCU is better delivered not just because its better written, but you have a lot more invested in the characters and stories. The essence of a good joke is the set up and delivery. Deadpool has a handful of those moments but pale in comparison to a lot of MCU flicks.

That's the thing with the MCU, like Deadpool, once you've seen the quip-equipped funny in a MCU or two, it's all the same and it gets tiring, especially since it's always playing safe.

People that attribute dirty "fucks and dicks" humor to something teenagers like don't see the bigger picture. As you said, it's way more refreshing, as opposed to seeing the same humor you've otherwise seen in Marvel movies since X-Men and Spider-man, and ramped the fuck up when the MCU began.

Also Deadpool's stove on is funny because it's so random and psychotic. Like dude is in the middle of murdering and is just wondering this random ass thing.

Maybe because I wasn't presenting it like it's some carved-in-stone fact. The whole point of C/D topics is to either agree or disagree with the thing that's being presented and elaborate on that (if you want).
It's all very clearly opinions.

Yeah. There's no punch to it after a while. The best line in Deadpool 2 for me was:

"I don't know about this Cable guy but I guarantee he hasn't killed as many people as melanoma."

Because it's just a really well written, well delivered line. It's not leaning on the hard R rating and throwing in a cock or fuck into it as magic comedy glue.

Oh, we all know how the joke works. I used that joke when I was like 5 years old. And I'm not saying this to sound edgy, to act like I'm above simple jokes and toilet humour. When it's funny, it's funny.

I'm saying it's literally the cheapest, formulaic, laziest punchline they could have made. I don't throw around the word "cringey" like most people on the internet, but the joke is so bad it registers a small cringe for me.

It's really that bad.

That's the thing. Nothing in the MCU is any better. Just because they use swear swords doesn't change anything and the fact that you attribute it to kids kind of shows off your own immaturity.

It's not irrelevant. The point is that it was funny was because it was at such a random point while people are being ripped apart. Not because of what he said exactly.

Defense for what? You're clearly biased and not seeing that the MCU is the same mix, except without swear words. They pull the same crudeness or weirdness and especially cringiness.

Also this whole thing is just opinions. I don't really need a defense to say that they are both good and bad for similar reasons. I saw the entire MCU again recently and as I mentioned above, the swearing and extra dirtiness is definitely refreshing with Deadpool. Even other rated R movies like Blade and Punisher were not able to bring this type of funny. 2 movies versus the same exact shit for like what, 35 movies?

It's not hard to see why people would like the comedy more and it has little do with thinking like a teenager.

The set up is he's in the middle of this ridiculous car crash and action scene and he turns to the camera and says something completely irrelevant

The punchline is "Did I leave the stove on"

https://www.reddit.com/r/movies/comments/497zq3/in_deadpool_why_didnt_they_change_the_did_i_leave/

Call it subjective, but most people think this line is trash and should have been immediately topped with something better in the writers room

Or punched up in the final edit

OR at the very least been just a trailer line that had no business being in the final movie. I honestly was hoping for a different line, having seen the trailer and thought "ooof, hope there's a different take of that in the movie" But when the scene came and went and you could hear a pin drop in the theatre I just kind of shook my head that joke ever made it in.

The bar for humour in these movies is VERY low. And sometimes that works for it, it gets a lot of chuckles out of me. But the really gut busting moments are few and far between, because it's just lazy writing.

And it's the same for the MCU. Full of lazy writing or embarrassing and cringy dialogue. Like that time Hank Pym just has to shoehorn that the Avengers are dealing with Sokovia. Ant-Man is one of my favorite movies out of the bunch, but I can't help but cringe in embarrassment everytime that comes up.

And despite Ragnarok being one of the best MCU movies along with Guardians, it's full of cringe and lazy writing. Like using Immigrant Song twice and ruining the effect. Or Thor just having to swing around twice while he's chained up.

You're just not seeing the equal stuff in the MCU.

Most of the top comments are a combination of explaining things about trailers, saying who cares, saying they thought it was both funny or garbage or how the audience did get a laugh but that person didn't. You're trying to cherrypick shit at this point.

Besides, a Reddit thread is not proof of something.
