They make arrangements for them to be picked up by family members. Also, single parents have historically been able to effectively convince a judge to give them a lighter sentence with more parole so that they can take care of their children. Since all the crimes the illegal immigrants were guilty of are misdemeanors, they should be treated similarly. This is without even getting into the whole problem of people following the letter of the law by seeking asylum and being ripped from their children in the process. The whole situation didn't exist a month ago. When people say it's Trump's policy, they're not looking at the 2008 ruling that can be blamed on Bush or the 8 years of Obama that could have gotten rid of it, it's blaming Trump for going through with it now because he was using it as leverage against the democrats.
