cry at stories of migrant children torn from their parents and put in concentration camps

can't I just be in the middle and worry about both?

there are good and evil migrants. not all immigrants want to harm americans. but some did, and there are cases of dead americans from murderers that illegally came here. but the kids are innnocent, and the concentration camps are wrong

I wish there were a decent solution to the media problem but unfortunately there doesn't seem to be one. You can't make it illegal to say "neener neener those guys are poopy heads and you are too if you agree with them" and while it would seem the sensible thing to do is just make your own news outlet that doesn't do that, that kind of crap is right around pretty much everyone's maturity level.

The solution is to stop watching 24 hour news networks. They're designed to keep you watching and to make you emotional.
That's not how news should be consumed.

You'll never escape bias, and you really shouldn't treat it like a boogyman, but a constant stream of information that repeats the same news over and over is not the way to do it.

A good start would be to bring back the rule forcing networks to air retractions to false stories in a prime timeslot.

I would also probably force networks that use the excuse that they're "entertainment, not news" (looking at you, Fox) to have a constant disclaimer beneath their programming stating as such.

CNN was showing Trump meeting with families of dead people from killer immigrants. and they suddenly cut it off right when a new father or whatever was starting to tell his story about his daughter I think. that was annoying. I watched hours of stuff on the migrant kids, but when it's time to talk about the other side of the story, they only showed it for like 1 minute and then said "that's enough"
