She appeared on Season 15 in 2011 and said she is glad social media was not big like it is now for contestants She said "People would approach me before i went on the show and maybe ask me to wear something, but that was as much as we got sponsored. Now a days, the most popular contestants develop a strong social media presence after the show to where sponsored posts can become their main source of income". But she said the network needed to do a better job about using social media to check on these hopefuls after the opinions of 2 of the men from the current season have had very controversial pasts. 28 y/o Becca Kufrin is the current bachelorette but it was revealed that front runner, Garrett Yrigoyen has had a series of SEXIST, HOMOPHOBIA and RACIST posts on his instagram!! She highlighted an entire thread tos how some of his controversial posts including that of Parkland student survivor, David Hogg who he said was a CRISIS ACTOR. Garrett has since apologized and deleted his old instagram account and created a new one but Ashley said the producers needed to do a better job in this digital age to screen them. Garrett also said he was DISGUSTED when he saw a BLACK MAN win the presidency back in 2008 and said AMERICA WAS DOOMED!! Another contestant, Lincol Adim also got backlash after a blogger revealed he was arrseeted in 2016 for battery and assault and though the sentence was suspended, should have never been on the show!!
